Shining a spotlight on blood cancer

Dear Arnie,

While we work every day to find cures for blood cancers and ensure access to treatments for the patients who need them, every September, for Blood Cancer Awareness Month, we redouble our efforts to advance cures and access.
This September we’ve created extensive awareness of blood cancers as the third leading cause of death from cancer, and the leadership role of LLS in the cancer arena. More than 25 TV and radio interviews across the country, in which I was joined by inspiring survivor and LLS ambassador Jessica Melore, have reached more than eight million people. A radio segment about LLS ran on 100s of stations nationwide. A survey of 1,000 consumers revealed an alarming lack of knowledge about blood cancers and LLS garnered extensive media coverage and guided consumers searching online for information to LLS.
But the most compelling call for your support comes from the patients and survivors. Please watch this TV segment in which Jessica shares her story: “LLS-supported research has saved my life and the lives of other people,” says Jessica.
