Start your day by visiting the Cabrillo National Monumentin Point Loma. This monument honors the first European to step foot on the Western United States-Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. You and your Valentine can hike the nearby two mile trail while experiencing the breathtaking views of the ocean and exploring the tide pools. #10 Visit La Jolla Cove at the beach.
Spend the day walking the beach at La Jolla Cove, visiting the tide pools, swimming, snorkeling, sun bathing (yes, the temperature is currently in the 70’s in the dead of winter in San Diego!) hiking, and picnicking as you take in the breathtaking views right up until sunset. Later, have a romantic dinner at one of the many fine restaurantsfound along the popular Prospect Street, or within the vicinity. Be advised that free on-street parking near the cove is limited and may be difficult to find, but there is no time limit on weekends. However, paid parking is available a short walk away in downtown La Jolla.
