North parkNorth Park has its name, because it is north of Balboa Park. It is a suburban neighborhood that has its architectural design from the 1930s. Residents take pride in accenting homes with flower gardens, trees, and what they call pure TLC. Most North Park homes sit on tree lined streets with cull de sacs facing wondrous canyons. Neighborhoods are friendly with quaint local coffee shops and mom-and-pop businesses. University Avenue, is always sprouting up new businesses and shopping along the street. North Park even has a new recreation center with a baseball field and the North Park Theatre. One of California’s oldest parades, the Toyland Parade, is present through every December. North Park is also close by to many locations including: Downtown with hundreds of restaurants, Horton Plaza, the new baseball park; Balboa Park which includes museums, a stage theatre, and the famous San Diego Zoo. Also, Old Town isn’t too far off; Old Town captures the first settlement of Mexican tradition and wonderful food; Hillcrest with unique shops, restaurants, eclectic streets, and an upbeat feel.
