Normal Heights is located in San Diego‘s hills above Mission Valley. Most of the neighborhood businesses are located along Adams Avenue. Normal Heights has a high rate of pedestrian activity and a unique mix of nationalities relative to the rest of San Diego. It has been called “one of the most walk able neighborhoods in San Diego.”The Adams Avenue Roots Festival, The Adams Avenue Street Fair, and Art around Adams are three important events in Normal Heights.
The stretch of Adams Avenue between Texas Street on the west and Ohio Street on the east is usually referred to as Antique Row, because of the large quantity of antique stores on that stretch.
